Childcare.co.uk is offering parents of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities children (SEND), a free night of specialised childcare, so they can enjoy an evening out of the house, all expenses paid, on a night of their choice. The platform is appealing to the public to nominate parents who they think deserve a responsibility-free night. Childcare.co.uk will gift £200 to cover the winning parent’s night out and childcare, and a year’s free Gold membership, so they can find a qualified and registered childcare professional in their area. Three winners will be selected at random from the UK.Currently there are more than 21,000 babysitters with special needs experience on Childcare.co.uk.To nominate parents for the free night of childcare click here.Entries should say why these parents deserve a night out, incorporating background information on the family, and brief details on the child’s disability or condition and any other children who need to be cared for. “Being a parent of a child with SEND can be particularly stressful and everyone needs a break now and again. Very often the needs of SEND children can be such that parents don’t take any time out for themselves, and we wanted to change that. We hope by offering a free night of childcare to these parents, they will be able to let their hair down with the knowledge their kids are being well looked after by a specialist child carer.
By having friends and family nominate parents, we hope to find parents perfect for this offer. So, if you know someone in need of a night to themselves, whether that be a night on the town or a pamper evening, be sure to nominate them!”

“Parents of children with SEND don’t always ask for help when it comes to childcare, and really they’re the ones who need it the most. It’s so easy for any parent to not make any time for themselves, especially around the Christmas period where stress levels can run high.
We think this is a great initiative, and hopefully by making it as easy as possible for the winning parents to go out and have fun, they will see that it’s OK for them to let their hair down. It’s also a lovely feeling to know that your friends and family have nominated you and that they support and acknowledge the hard work you put in day-in and day-out as a parent.”
