Best highchairs

Sooner or later your baby is going to be sitting upright and be ready to start their weaning journey. With some many baby essentials around your house it’s understandable that you might not have thought about a highchair just yet. But, you’re going to need one pretty sharpish. To help you decide what highchair would suit your family's needs, we have pulled together a list of the best highchairs on the market right now.

Ok, Stokke have sold over 10 million Tripp Trapps, so that tells us they are pretty good. The 13 different height settings ensure this highchair offers ultimate longevity, making it suitable from birth - with the newborn set - until, well there’s no limit. The clever design ensures your child has a comfortable and ergonomic seating position at all ages. It’s no wonder it’s a multi-award winning highchair (did we mention it also snapped up the 2016, gold award in our Best Baby & Toddler Gear Awards?).

Best highchairs - Phil&teds poppy

The phil&teds poppy looks is more simple to use than some other highchairs but it has some great parts to it. It is recommended that you can use poppy from 6 months to around 3 years. When your baby is young the highchair will stand on the long legs with the wrap around food tray - which will hopefully help with messy eaters. When they get older, just shorten the legs and remove the tray to create the ‘my chair’ option. Our favourite thing about poppy is that the seat insert and tray can both go in the dishwasher, so you’ll know the whole highchair is sparkling clean even with baby throwing food all over the place.

Best highchairs - Chicco Polly Progress

The Chicco Polly Progress is a 5 in 1 highchair that offers plenty of configurations as your baby grows. Starting as a baby bouncer for newborns, into a highchair and then a comfortable booster seat that can be secured to a dining room chair for older children. Chicco have ensured your infant can join the family table whatever age they are all with this highchair. It also has 4 recline positions which we love. They’re pretty handy because we all know dinner time is tiring work! It's another Best Baby & Toddler Gear Awards shortlisted highchair, does it get your vote?

Designed by creative guru Peter Opsvik the gorgeous Nomi can be seamlessly adjusted with no tools required to fit children, newborn to teenage - this means you can change the chair within seconds to suit a different child. With the addition of the Nomi Baby, a soft, cosy baby seat this highchair can be used from birth. We love that even the youngster family member can join the table at meal times. The design is completely seamless and easy for parents to use and it doesn’t matter where you adjust the seat and footrest to, because it will remain ergonomic for your child. It’s scooped several awards including a shortlist in this year's Best Baby & Toddler Gear Awards.

This highchair gives you a lot of bang for your buck, that’s for sure! The Joie Multiply does everything you’d expect from a several stage highchair - it can be used with young babies with the recline options, remove the tray to bring baby to the table, convert it into a booster, it does the lot. But, our favourite part is the final stage - of this 6 in 1 - is the mini table and chair for toddlers to use! Simply change around all the parts of your highchair to make this perfectly sized set for playtime.
