Babystyle Oyster Zero review

March 22, 2018

FIRST IMPRESSIONS: After seeing a few pushchairs from the Babystyle range previously, I had high expectations for the Oyster Zero and I have to say it didn’t disappoint! I was instantly impressed by this pushchair.
The high quality fabrics and chassis really stood out straight away. The pushchair was extremely simple to use and although it came with clear instructions I found these weren’t needed and I was able to start using it within minutes. It came with a rain cover which is easy to fit and stores in a compartment inside the basket.
The pushchair has the ability to lie flat, it means it can be used from birth, but only as world facing. However you can purchase the carrycot separately if you wish to use the pushchair for a younger child parent facing. You can also purchase adaptors separately to turn the pushchair into a travel system which are compatible with many car seats.

STYLE: We tested the Babystyle Oyster Zero in the Ink Black colour which came with a lightweight aluminium chassis and tan leatherette bumper bar and handle. We found that it looked very sleek, stylish and on trend whilst being practical and easy to keep clean. It does come in a choice of 5 different colours which are all equally stylish.
The large extendable hood is a very impactive feature. It provided great coverage from all weathers for my son Jesse being UPF 50+ whilst maintaining its stylish design. I found all the little details on the pushchair to be well thought of such as the branding on the bumper bar and chassis. It all adds to the high quality feel and design of the pushchair.

USE: The pushchair has been an absolute dream to use. It manoeuvres really easily over a various range of terrains. We tested it on grass, pavement, wooded area and even light gravel and found it handled extremely well. It has swivel wheels on the front which are lockable if you are going over any rough terrain and also has great all round suspension.
Its very sturdy and lightweight and we found it consistently provided a very smooth ride for our son. He always looked extremely comfortable in the large seat which is nicely padded and never complained once going into the pushchair. He even fell asleep a couple of times when out and about, which he never does any more so it must be comfortable!

FEATURES: The Babystyle Oyster Zero is packed full of great features. The fold is beautifully simple being just a little red clip on the side followed by pulling the handle in the seat unit. It unfolds with ease too by just unclipping the chassis lock and pushing open.
It has a fantastic large seat unit (I honestly think I could sit in it with ease its so big) which gave my son so much room. It takes a child right from birth to 20kg which means I know he can use this pushchair for a very long time. The adjustable leg rest made the seat even more comfortable for him.
The seat reclines completely flat making it usable from newborn and as its a simple strap recline you can adjust the recline level to whatever level you need to make your child comfortable. This definitely came in handy when my son was getting sleepy without wanting to go to sleep just yet!
The hood is huge so provided amazing coverage in all weathers and I loved the fact its UPF 50+. I also loved the large shopping basket which I could fit plenty of shopping into and the handy pocket on the back of the hood which was perfect for keeping essentials in such as my keys and phone.
If I was being really picky, there are a few things I didn’t like. I found the brake quite difficult to apply at times due to it being quite small and also as I’m quite small I wasn’t keen on the fact the handlebar cant be adjusted but it was still a comfortable height. However they are the only faults I could find with being very picky!

GOOD TO KNOW: The Babystyle Oyster Zero is not only extremely versatile but fantastically lightweight and quite compact. It weighs only 7.9KG meaning its nice and light to carry and you can even use the bumper bar to help you carry it.
I found that although it isn’t the smallest folding pushchair it was quite compact and gave us plenty of room in the boot of the car. Perfect for days out and shopping trips!

KAYLEIGH AND JESSE’S CONCLUSION: We absolutely loved the Babystyle Oyster Zero pushchair and it was a joy to test and review. It is stylish, versatile, hardwearing, fantastic quality and extremely easy to use. The fact that is it usable from Birth right up to 20kg and provides your child with lots of space to grow makes it fantastic value for money.
If your looking for a long lasting, versatile, lightweight, stylish pushchair that handles well over most terrains then I highly recommend the Babystyle Oyster Zero.
